The Hardship Fund supports pupils from families undergoing short term financial difficulties, enabling them to continue their education and friendships and remain a part of the Dame Allan’s family.
The Schools are currently raising funds to match against a generous donation from The Goodacre Benevolent Fund. For every pound donated, the The Diamond Fund for hardship will match your donation by one pound, up to a sum of £45,000 offered by the trust.
The money has been generously pledged by Michael Hutt in memory of his late wife Jeanette (Jen), a much respected and admired teacher who joined Dame Allan’s in 1981 and was instrumental in the creation of the Schools’ politics department.
It will act as seed funding for the newly created Diamond Fund and used to match, pound-for-pound, all future donations added to the pot, allowing for up to £90,000 worth of financial support for fee-paying parents who find themselves in times of hardship.
Covid-19 Appeal
Throughout the coronavirus pandemic our pupils remained, as always, our top priority. In 2020 the Covid-19 Appeal was launched to support families who were financially impacted by the pandemic. The Dame Allan’s community gave generously and the average COVID-19 Bursary award was 40% of a term’s fees, around £1,800 for every child supported.
