The Lectures
Students from Year 9 to Year 13, Parents, and Allanians are all invited to be inspired by talks from our guest speakers.
The Lectures seek to enrich students’ interest in subjects outside of their lessons, delivered by leading people in their respective fields.
Nicholas McCarthy
One of the world’s most inspirational pianists, Nicholas McCarthy was born without his right hand and has gone on to achieve international acclaim through extraordinary talent, determination, and a pioneering spirit.
After making history as the first one-handed pianist to graduate in the Royal College of Music’s 130-year history he has subsequently performed at the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, where he appeared with the British Paraorchestra and Coldplay, and made his BBC Proms debut at the Royal Albert Hall.
