We are grateful to all our alumni, parents and friends who have so generously supported Dame Allan’s Schools over the years.
There are a variety of ways you can donate: set up a regular donation, make a one-off gift or leave a legacy to Dame Allan’s in your will. You can let us know how you’d like the money to be used, or let us allocate where the need is greatest. Whatever the level of your gift, your generosity is truly appreciated by everyone in the Dame Allan's community.
If you would like to speak with someone about making a gift, please get in touch with the Development Office on 0191 275 1513 or development@dameallans.co.uk.
Dame Allan’s Schools were founded to provide a “proper education” to boys and girls without the means to afford it and, more than 300 years on, we are proud that this philanthropic mission continues to be fulfilled through our bursary award scheme. This year, 19 new pupils have been awarded a Dame Allan’s bursary.
The impact of a Dame Allan’s education can be transformational for a child. Takreem, 2023 leaver and bursary award recipient, said of his time here: “Getting a bursary to attend Dame Allan’s gave me the opportunity to try things that I never would have considered, and perhaps wouldn’t even have had access to”. Read more about our bursary award recipients here.
In the last two years, Dame Allan’s supporters have contributed funds towards the Jubilee Building, sporting facilities, The Lectures and the Snug.

The Hardship Fund supports pupils from families undergoing short term financial difficulties, to enable their children to remain in school.
Thanks to a generous donation from The Goodacre Benevolent Fund, The Diamond Fund will match your donation pound for pound, up to a sum of £45,000.
The money has been generously pledged by Michael Hutt in memory of his late wife Jeanette (Jen), a much respected and admired teacher who joined Dame Allan’s in 1981 and was instrumental in the creation of the Schools’ politics department.
