Former Dame Allan’s Schools pupil Charlie Trim made his way back to the Senior School, having been appointed as a Graduate Assistant to support the Outdoor Leadership and Education (OLED) team during a busy period of growth.

Charlie, who left Dame Allan’s in 2020 during the Covid pandemic, became a valuable member of the OLED team, whilst also supporting the Schools’ CCF (Combined Cadet Force) provision. After two successful terms back at Dame Allan’s, this week he has said a second goodbye to the Schools, as he moves on to further his career development.

During his time at school as a pupil, Charlie himself was a dedicated cadet in Dame Allan’s first ever CCF cohort. He rose to the rank of Cadet Colour Sergeant, and is proud that he has helped to inspire younger pupils with an interest in CCF and the outdoors.

“I had such a warm welcome back from the Dame Allan’s community,” said Charlie, speaking about his time in the role. “It was strange but nice to be on the other side of the Staff Room door!”

Having joined Dame Allan’s in Year 4, Charlie has fond memories of his time at the Schools:

“I really enjoyed working with staff that I remember teaching me and seeing lots of familiar faces. I am proud to have offered my support to the OLED and CCF teams, getting stuck into whatever needed doing, whether that was helping out with Duke of Edinburgh, helping on excursions or simply being able to share my experience with current pupils.”

After leaving Dame Allan's, Charlie attended Oxford Brooks University, where he studied Real Estate - a career path he hopes to develop in the future. He is also hoping to pursue a further role within the military.
