Pupils at Dame Allan’s Schools are today being praised for their hard work and resilience as they celebrate an impressive set of A Level results.
Almost half (46.4% per cent) of the 113 pupils in Year 13 achieved A* and A grades, while 73.8 per cent were awarded A* to B grades. Pupils, many of whom balance their A Levels with co-curricular activities and sport, attained a pass rate of 99.7 per cent.
Will Scott, Principal at Newcastle’s Dame Allan’s Schools, said: “We are exceptionally proud of our pupils who have shown remarkable strength and an unwavering commitment to their studies having experienced an unprecedented level of disruption during their Senior School exam years.
“These A Level results not only reflect their academic prowess but also the steadfast spirit that will serve them well as they take their ambitious next steps in the world. Their triumphs are today celebrated by the entire Dame Allan’s community, especially their teachers who have been equally committed to their education and care. My heartfelt congratulations go to them all.”
Dame Allan’s School is one of the North East’s oldest independent schools and operates a diamond structure of education that is unique to the region. It co-educates pupils in the Junior School and Sixth Form, while teaching boys and girls separately between the ages of 11 and 16.
